Of Poetry Podcast: Carla Sofia Ferreira, Rachel Edelman, Lauren Camp, and Jennifer A Sutherland

Today, Carla Sofia Ferreira’s Episode 45: Of Elegeic Odes, Semicolons, and Witness, is live at Of Poetry Podcast! Carla and Han discuss the expansive field of grammar, St. Lucy’s school (and Day!), comma splices, witness and love and empanadas and advocacy, the work of care and the particular way poems enact paying attention.

We wanted to take this opportunity to celebrate Carla’s A Geography That Does Not Hurt Us, available in our bookstore and SPD, and also Rachel Edelman’s Dear Memphis, also available in our bookstore and SPD, AND to celebrate and warmly recommend the four episodes of Of Poetry Podcast featuring our River River Book authors:

Of Poetry Podcast is an ongoing conversation taking place among the poetry community. It’s less about rockstars, and more about peers, and connection, and support. This summer, the podcast will have its third birthday—and in January, 2024, we reached 10,000 downloads! Which is a big accomplishment for a small passion project, begun as a way of supporting poets with books published during lockdown. In April, in celebration of National Poetry Month, Of Poetry will feature some small but mighty poetry community members who are intentionally creating space and access for others. We can’t wait for you to hear from these podcasters, reading series organizers, and publishers!
